Terms & Conditions

Acceptance of Terms

By paying this invoice, you (“Customer”) agree to the following terms and conditions for the purchase of water filtration systems and any other related products (“Products”) from Offgrid Water (“Company”).

Product Information and Maintenance

  1. Specifications and filter change frequency for the Products are available on the Company’s website and in the provided PDF and physical instructions sent to customers. Customers should take notice of instructions accordingly, flushing systems (running water through the systems before use for a period of time) and taking notice of the right fittings to use.
  2. The product you receive may vary slightly in colour, design and appearance. This is because we are constantly iterating the product and sometimes use different manufacturers for certain components.

Liability and Responsibility

  1. Instructions and Guidelines: The Company provides instructions for replacing filters. It's important to follow these instructions carefully. However, the company is not responsible for any issues arising from incorrect filter or UV light installation or resulting water contamination.
  2. Frequency of Replacement: Replacement frequency can vary due to factors such as source water quality and the desired quality of the output water. These guidelines are provided for general reference. The Company is not liable for issues that may arise due to deviations from these recommended frequencies.
  3. Water Testing: Customers are advised to conduct their own water quality tests before use or consumption. The Company is not responsible for any contamination that may occur if filter change needs vary from the provided guidelines.
  4. Maintenance and Installation:
    1. Maintenance: The company does not provide a dedicated maintenance service (aside from that covered in the Warranty section below.) Customers are responsible for the basic maintenance of the system, including timely filter replacement to prevent leaks, pressure build-up, or other damage. The Company is not liable for damage resulting from inadequate maintenance or incorrect filter fitting.
    2. Installation: The Company does not provide installation services. Any installation performed by the Company is a courtesy and does not assume liability for any damage that may occur, whether on boats or land. You are expected to be able to carry out basic tightening of clamps or screws upon receipt as units are not always "wet-tested" before despatch due to posting considerations.
By adhering to these terms, customers can help ensure the effective operation of their water filtration system while understanding their responsibilities.

    Special Instructions for Tank Installations

Customers with canal boats or installations using a water tank must add chlorine (approximately one to two teaspoons per 1000 litres or a chlorine tablet) after filling the tank to prevent bacterial growth. Quantity may vary according to manufacturer. The second stage and third stage filtration systems are designed to remove chlorine before consumption.

    Warranty

    1. A two year warranty covers mechanical and electrical issues, excluding problems from fair wear and tear or items that are covered under basic maintenance such as tightening filters or clamps. Pumps are covered by a one-year warranty.
    2. The warranty includes parts replacements. Customers are responsible for postage and delivery costs for repairs. The Company may offer repair services in specific regions, subject to availability and these are offered on a courtesy basis. This is for practical reasons and fitting replacement parts has been designed to be as simple as possible.
    3. The use of third-party repair services without prior approval from the Company may void the warranty. Please contact us if in doubt.
    4. Consumables, including UV lights and all cartridges, are not covered under warranty. Replacement instructions and sourcing options are provided. The company does not replace your consumables for you.
    5. Sale (including pre-sale) and discounted items are not covered under the warranty. This includes pre-sale items, but may be repaired at our discretion.

    Returns and Cancellations

    1. Cancellation Rights: Due to the bespoke nature of the customised water filtration systems tailored to individual customer specifications, the standard 14-day cancellation right does not apply. Once an order for a customised system is confirmed and production has begun, it cannot be cancelled or changed.
    2. Non-Customised Products: For non-customised products, customers have the right to cancel their order within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period will expire 14 days from the day on which the customer acquires physical possession of the goods.
    3. Refunds and Returns: For non-customised products, if the customer cancels this contract, the Company will reimburse all payments received from the customer, including the costs of delivery (except for supplementary costs). The reimbursement will be made without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after receiving the returned goods or evidence of the goods being returned, whichever is earliest.
    4. Sale or Discounted Items: Sale or discounted items (including pre-sale items) are not covered under the same conditions as non-sale items. These items are non-returnable and cannot be cancelled once purchased. This policy does not affect your statutory rights regarding faulty or misdescribed goods. If a sale or discounted item is received damaged or defective, please contact the Company immediately for a resolution.
    5. Return Costs: The customer will bear the direct cost of returning both customised and non-customised goods.
    6. Damaged or Defective Goods: In case of receiving damaged or defective goods, customers should contact the Company immediately for a resolution. This applies to both customised and non-customised products.
    7. Liability for Diminished Value: The customer is only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods, applicable only for non-customised products.

    International Customers

The terms and conditions apply to all customers, regardless of location. Specific warranty services, shipping, and handling may vary based on the customer's region.

    Future Products

These terms and conditions apply to all current and future Products offered by the Company.

    Miscellaneous

    1. The Company reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
    2. Any disputes arising under these terms will be governed by UK law.
